Through Innovative Water Technology's research, we've found that those in need of clean drinking water often live in remote locations with limited access to funds and power. The Sunspring®, a self-contained solar-powered water purification system was designed to be easily transportable and more affordable than current market systems.

Case Study: Democratic Republic of Congo

Democratic Republic of Congo Sunspring Installations are currently underway. Installation of 31 Sunsprings began in DR CONGO the week of 03-16-09. The first unit was installed as shown in the slideshow above. We will update this slideshow with more pictures and narratives as they are available.

A factory trained Installer (who trained with our installers for 2 days in Rocky Ford last year) worked with locals to complete the installation. More installations are in progress. Our technical services experts are on cell-phone standby to answer any questions and insure smooth installation of all units.

Initial response from the people at the site has been very positive. Raw water coming out of the Congo River and the influent looks like “onion soup." The effluent from the Sunspring has a turbidity of <.1, while we were actually told it is “zero”.
